Jalisco was the center of the Catholic resistance to the government’s harsh laws
against the church in the early 20th century. These people were called Cristeros.
History
Since the 5th century, Jamay has been invaded numerous times - by Toltecs,
Chichimecas, Aztecas and Tarascos (Purapechas).
