President: Lic. Sergio Arturo Unzueta Flores

Sergio was born in Guadalajara; he's now living in Chapala, where his family is from. He studied Architecture and Design at the University of Guadalajara; he graduated with a degree in Visual Arts. His concern for ecology, culture and the conservation of the lake has led him to become president of Amigos del Lago.

Secretary: Lic. Gabriela María Azucena Bateman Campos

Azucena is originally from Ajijic.  She has lived here all her life, as her family has for generations. Before becoming Secretary she was Vice-President of Amigos del Lago 2007 - 2009. She has a degree in Law from the University Center of Social and Language Science (Centro Universitario de Ciencias Sociales Y Humanidades) - Law Faculty - of the University of Guadalajara. She is a practicing attorney in Ajijic. As a native to Ajijic, Azucena understands the importance of the lake to all people who live here and to the ecology of the entire basin. Consequently, she is anxious to serve as secretary of Amigos del Lago so that she can continue to work for the preservation of Lake Chapala.
